iWriter Article Marketplace Review
iWriter designed and deployed by Brad Callen features an unique marketplace system. Clients can post the articles they need with the freedom to choose between three different classes of writers whereas writers can pick any write, write it and get it approved quick, based on client's usual turnaround time.
Who they hire?
No one hires you on iWriter! Unlike other websites such as Demand Studios, Constant Content or Guru, Odesk, there's no editorial team to hire writers. You simply sign up providing your details and all you need is a working Paypal account. It is not restricted to US, Canada or any other specific country. The website accepts people worldwide.
What do they pay?
The payment depends on the class of writer you are. Everyone begins as a standard writer and they can climb up the ladder with enough ratings from client. Writers with 4.0 stars and above, 30 ratings in their account will become a Premium writer. Writers with 4.6 stars and above, 30 ratings or more will become an Elite writer. Pay increases as you write more and keep your ratings consistent.
Standard Writers/ Premium Writers/ Elite Writers
300 words – $1.62/ $3.24/ $5.67
500 words – $2.24/ $4.05/ $8.10
Special Requests
Special requests are the ones you get directly from a client, if he likes your previous work. It pays more. eg. 500 words will be $4.65 or $4.73 based on how much the client deposits initially. In order to get special requests, it's mandatory to write articles first and grab attention of good clients.
When they pay?
They pay only via Paypal. You can choose between monthly, weekly and bi-monthly pay dates. It's a personal choice and how much you earn every week. Payment is on time every week and iWriter is a legitimate website to work for.
How to choose clients/ pick articles?
First of all, never choose articles which are vaguely familiar to you. You will find articles on almost all categories including technology, press releases, movie profiles, blogs, seo content and more. Choosing those that you have little knowledge about will help you get it approved easily. If you are non-native English speaker, don't pick Elite articles or those that specifically mention they want US/UK/ Australia based native speakers to avoid rejection.
After submitting an article, the timer begins. The maximum time limit is 3 days/ 72 hours before which the client has to approve your content. If not, it will get auto approved and the money will be credited to your account, without any client ratings.
Client Ratings
Check approval rate percentage of clients. If it's 50% or above, it's a safe bet. See the number of articles they have submitted so far and be wary of new clients. With experience you can see who's genuine and who isn't with time.
Personal Experience
I'm an Elite writer with over 4.8 star ratings on iWriter and a member for one year now. I now have more than five regular clients who give me special requests every month and I hardly take up new random clients. It sounds easier but took me an year to attain this place and the regular income easily crosses $100 every month. Sometimes, it's $250 or more. My experience is satisfactory overall with few glitches.
What's great?
Choice of topics
Easy payment system
Plenty of work everyday
Approval/ rating system
What isn't!
Rogue clients who reject articles to save few dollars
Writers have little control over client rejections
This iWriter review should give you an idea, and it's definitely a great egg to have in your basket. It's one of the best available choice for writers worldwide.
